Trailer Park Musical Delays Opening to 9/22; Trujillo Joins Creative Team

The Great American Trailer Park Musical is delaying its opening by one week. The show will now have its official bow at Dodger Stages on September 22. Choreographer Sergio Trujillo All Shook Up, The Mambo Kings has also been brought on board to work on the tuner.

The Great American Trailer Park Musical centers on what happens when Pippi Orfeh, a"stripper on the run," comes between the Dr. Phil-loving, agoraphobic Jeannie Kaitlin Hopkins and her tollbooth collector husband Shuler Hensley. The cast also includes Marya Grandy, Linda Hart, Leslie Kritzer and Wayne Wilcox.

The musical features music and lyrics by David Nehls and book and direction by Betsy Kelso. It began previews at Dodger Stages on August 20. Patti Colombo was originally announced to be doing "musical staging" for the production, but she has been completely removed from the show's credits. No reason was given for her departure. Trujillo will now be credited as choreographer.
